40 percent of children with suspected autism wait more than three years for a confirmed and clear diagnosis of the condition. Boys are up to four times more likely to develop autism than girls are. These statistics show that autism is common to most families and we will all experience meeting someone with autism at some point in our lives.
Education of society is one of the best ways of attacking the condition and helping families with autism. A better educated and aware public will create a better environment for people with autism to live. Most adults with autism advise that their liveswould be considerably better is they had a job.
