Autism Causes
Many people are concerned about the possibility that their child will end up with autism, especially since the disease seems to be on the rise since the 1980s. It is thought that one of the reasons why the disease seems to be on the incline is because it is recognized more often in youngsters. Because autism tends to affect people to different degrees, it is possible for somebody to live with a mild form of autism throughout their lifetime and have it be undetected. For other people, however, autism causes debilitating social problems and may even keep them from being able to live on their own throughout their entire life. Many people are also interested in the autism causes and what they can do to provide their family with a reduced risk of coming down with the disease.
It is interesting to note that there is not actually a known list of autism causes, although they do have some theories that contain triggers that would cause the disease. One of the main things that causes autism, so it is thought, is hereditary problems. Although they are unable to identify the gene which passes on the autism problem, they do feel that people who have autism are at an increased risk of passing it on to their children. Other than that, there may be environmental problems that are causing the disease. These can include such things as pollution, chemicals in the air and water or potentially even vaccinations. Although there is no support for the theory that vaccinations would be one of the autism causes, many medical professionals feel that it is a possibility.
If you feel that your child is at risk of having autism, you should be on the lookout for any early warning signs that may alert you to the problem. These would include such things as social difficulties, repetitive syndrome or lack of communication. Although it is possible that other problems may be causing these things, early detection is the key to being able to allow someone with autism to lead a full life.
